Joint research project FlaBi has started

The joint research project “FlaBi” is developing and investigating various technical measures for adapting inland vessels to the expected increase of low-water phases. This involves both the development of new vessels and the conversion or retrofitting of the existing fleet. One major challenge is to develop solutions that enable the vessels to operate economically at both normal and low water levels.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is funding the project as part of the „Maritime Research Programme“ under the funding reference 03SX532A.
